Text 26 Apr Be Bold and stand out this Summer!

Looking around in any clothes store from High-Street to Vintage.  It’s evident that Summer is creeping around the corners.  Fresh and vibrant colours, flowy fabrics, and floral prints seem to be parading shop windows.  But which style will you go for this year!

2010: Brings a new persona to women universally.  Women are embracing their sexuality, and have become more confident with themselves.  This will reflect the 2010 woman’s way of styling herself (unless she is shy, and non experimental)

Past Summer trends have always reflected the general mood of a woman within that year, which resulted in that years trend style.  In years where English weather was breezy, hot and also no recession: The majority of women took to the more relaxed and natural approach in style, wearing boohoo/hippie trends, flowy skirts and floral summer dresses.  Other years have seen a majority of women choose a more boyish, yet sexy look, by wearing varied styled Jumpsuits.

This year I see a more bold approach, which I feel todays woman will slowly take steps into purchasing an outfit to again, reflect her mood.  This Summer’s woman will be seeing a more vibrant Summer trend.  I predict beautiful sharp shapes, Bold colours, and figure hugging fabric.  BOLD IS IN!  Check out Pop by PPQ to kick start your Wardrobe.

Text 22 Apr Epilepsy Fundraiser - Coming in 2011

Personal Experience (The Story):

If you didn’t know I used to suffer from Epilepsy as a child!  It was a struggle to do many things that I enjoyed as it could trigger off severe seizures, and fits randomly from things like Video games, flashing lights, and even camera flashes which ruined many children’s parties!.  Being diagnosed with Photo-senitive Epilepsy ment I could not do doing certain things that I loved.  I was also told by doctors that my Epilepsy may effect me in the future.  Meaning I wouldn’t be able to drive, or go to places with strobe lights like Cinemas and Night Clubs.

I  never let this stop me though, and as a result I ended up in Hospital a lot.  But I was prepaired to take the risk as I chose to be in the Music Industry.  Being a Singer means I am in Night Clubs on stage, constantly around flashing lights and camera’s.  I had to find a way to over-come my fear of falling ill.

I have been told that I am cured, and may not have to experience a seizure again, but there is still a chance it may return.

I don’t see this as a death sentence, it has never disturbed my career prospects and future plans and igt is not that serious to think of the worst.  It is now simply become just a fear to me.  So all I do now is inform people I have Epilepsy, especially when doing gigs so they can prepare to switch off strobe lights and make other precautions.

Fundraiser:

Helping others who have Epilepsy is very important to me, as in the past I had been a sufferer.

You can be told to stop doing things you enjoy! But if like me you have dreams that involve being in an environment which may trigger off your Epilepsy, It may harm your decision to pursue a career of your dreams.

Do not fear it! There are always ways to juggle things and become the person you want to be despite an Illness.  Never let it stop you.  You still have to live a great life.  So do it full-hearted.

The Fundraiser will be organised to raise funds and awareness for Epilepsy.  I will be planning it from now, but this Event will happen in 2011 during National Epilepsy Week in May! (TBC).

This event will involve Entertainment and many more from Musical Artists and people within an Industry full of colour and creativity.

THIS IS STILL TO BE CONFIRMED.  But I will regularly write and keep you all informed.  So watch this space for further future plans.

But for now a track I wrote with “THE MIKE DELINQUENT PROJECT” on production, is currently playing on Radio, 1xtra.  Many thanks to the Dj’s who have supported.  Check out KCAT:EPILEPTIC (release date TBC)

KCAT: BOYS DONT CRY

OUT 7th FEB 2010 on itunes only!

Photo 5 Feb http://www.gaydarnation.com/UserPortal/Article/Detail.aspx?ID=26084&sid=26
KCAT 04 Feb 2010Unique, stylish, feisty and edgy – KCAT demands attention and she’s bound to get yours with her debut single ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.
We spoke to KCAT about baring all, world domination, and the difference between men and little boys.
So, what is KCAT’s main mission? To achieve world domination.
What’s your best trait? I am very ambitious and hard working - when I put my mind to something it has to be done.
And your worst? I can get really emotional at times, but chocolate easily solves that! Oh, and I can get obsessive about my things. If I don’t know where something is I will hunt for it until I find it.
Tell us a bit about ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ – what can we expect? You can expect to get a taster of what’s to come in the future and this is just an introduction to the softer side of me. I have a lot more to offer and this first single will set the mark of what else is to come. You’ll see my true colours soon, gradually. I don’t give things away that easily!
On the subject of boys, what do you look for in one? Ones that don’t cry! Only kidding. A real man to me - like what’s said in the song - is someone who is not afraid to show you all sides of their personality, including the tears, their emotions, their feminine side.
This to me shows strength and maturity, that’s the kind of person I can relate to and see spending time with. All in all, I look for men and not little boys! And it helps to be gorgeous, too! [Laughs].
What comes first for you – sex or love? Love always, with good true love you get the best of both worlds, ’cause the sex is much better when it’s with someone you love.
“You’ll see my true colours soon, gradually. I don’t give things away that easily!”
So, do you ever hit the gay clubs on a night out? Now and again, it’s a much better night ’cause I can be extreme and wear the most outrageous outfits and really be unique, but I say now and again ‘cause gay clubs are so active it takes all the life out of me.
The gays are bound to take a shine to you – how do you feel about the term gay icon?I love it! It’s just like saying the term Pop Idol or X Factor, but a lot better!

Music is a tough industry – what do you think you need to be successful in it? Thick skin and a stiff upper lip. Everyone will always have an opinion of you good and bad. If you are emotional like me, you will need to learn how to be tough and grow thicker skin inside. Work hard and be determined.
If you wake up every morning and your heart tells you to be a singer, actor, presenter, etc., that’s what you should do. Never give up believing and never do things halfway or half-hearted - go all the way.
“If you wake up every morning and your heart tells you to be a singer, actor, presenter, etc., that’s what you should do. Never give up believing and never do things halfway or half-hearted - go all the way.”
What would be your fantasy gig? A full-on song and dance showcase with eccentric never-been-seen-before outfits, crazy dance routines, the works!
What’s your favourite item of clothing? My sexy killer heels with my birthday suit.
What’s one of the most outrageous things you’ve ever done?Run naked in typhoon season in a hot country and shower in the rain. But that was when I was about seven years old.

Material Girl.

Cast: Lenora Crichlow, Dervla Kirwan, and Michael Landes.

Was’nt sure about this when I first saw the advert for it, but as I watched the first programme I could feel myself getting quickly drawn in to the story line and the colourful characters.  I am now hooked on “Material Girl”, and try my best to watch it when I can.  It’s Britains answer to Ugly Betty but even better.  It’s bitchy, has lots bite, attitude, edge and some mad outfits. I think it gives an interesting insight into the world of fashion behind closed doors.

Check it out on BBC 1 - thursday 8pm.

You’ll love it if you adore fashion, bitchy competition and cat fights. *****

KCAT scratches her way to the pop world.

Thursday, 28 January 2010 View Comments

Born in North London, the Filipino-British pop singer KCAT (pronounced as ‘Cat’) is now conquering the airwaves with songs that show off her immense talent.
Proud to be an artist who has over four million views on her YouTube account, KCAT’s stock is surely on the rise. She considers Donna Summer, Blondie, Queen, Gwen Stefani, and Pink as her musical influences.
The eagerly anticipated Boys Don’t Cry will soon invade the airwaves in February 2010. The track is considered to be KCAT’s launching pad to stardom.
SINGLE REVIEW: Boys Don’t Cry
If I am only allowed to describe the track in one word, I would say ‘infectious’ immediately. The track immediately caught my senses and got me hooked.
Boys Don’t Cry is pretty upbeat and does sound as a very fun record. The repetition of the line ‘Boys, boys don’t cry’ is sheer genius on her part. It does show that KCAT’s songwriting is truly great.
The track can be used as a good measuring gauge to determine whether KCAT is someone who can be considered as a one-hit wonder or as someone who simply has what it takes to continuously make creative music that can surely please the audience.
And creating great music is something in which KCAT excels. Boys Don’t Cry is a good testament to this. The catchy beats, alongside the refined lyrics, is a huge asset in the track. Without such, I don’t think the track is actually enjoyable in the first place.
In conclusion, Boys Don’t Cry is truly a dance gem. It’s a great fun record that will surely get people dancing non-stop. KCAT will surely flourish as an artist if her future records continue to sound brilliant just like Boys Don’t Cry. The track is simply brilliant. End of story.
RATING: A-
